Bangkok Airport (Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang?)
Bangkok airport is generally known as Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport. However, Bangkok has one more international airport, Don Mueang. So it is important to learn which airport will you use for your travel. But, generally Don Mueang is used by low-cost airways as Air Asia and Nok Air.
Bangkok airport (Suvarnabhomi) is not too far to city center and most of airways use that. It’s international code is BKK. It is quite clean and well-ordered. You can spend many hours without get bored.
How to get from Bangkok airport to city Centre?
From Suvarnabhumi, you can use the airport rail connection to go to your local hotel in Sukhumvit, Siam Square or Silom in the city center. The rail connection on the lowest floor of the airport serves between 06.00-24.00 hours.
The rail connection consists of 2 lines, City Line and Express Line. The city line stops at all stations and it takes about 30 minutes to reach the last station, Phaya Thai. The express line goes to the Makkasan or Phaya Thai stations without interruption about 15-18 minutes.
You can transfer from Makkasan station to Metro, Phaya Thai station to BTS Skytrain. If you are going to Khao San Road in the backpacker area, you can use taxis or tuk-tuks after visiting Phaya Thai. Alternatively, you can reach Khao San Road by public bus 503 from Phaya Thai.

One-use coin: You can also use vending machines as you can get coins from your home. The payment amount is specified when you select the station you want to go to from the touch screen. After you make the payment, you are given a plastic coin in the automat. You are reading this plastic coin at the entry tours and you are holding it to the destination you are going to go to.
At the exit turn of the stop you are going to throw the coin from the hole, the coin remains on the tournament. Prices range from 150 baht for Express Line to 15-45 baht for City Line depending on where you are going.

How to get from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Bangkok by taxi?
The Public Taxi is on the 1st floor under the “Arrivals” section. Here you get a receipt where you enter the queue and write where you want to go. At the end of the journey, you need to pay the driver 5o baht in addition to the taximeter fee. If you do not want to pay this fee, you can try to go to the “Departures” section and take a taxi leaving the customer. Do not forget to say “meter” to the driver when boarding the taxiway from both places, try another taxi if the driver refuses to open the taximeter.
Going back to Khao San Road in the backpacker district, it’s about 350-400 baht depending on the traffic situation. It costs around 200-250 baht to go to Sukhumvit in the city center and 300-350 baht to go to Silom. The passenger must also pay the airport fee of 50 baht and the motorway fee of 60 baht.
There is also a direct taxi service from Suvarnabhumi airport to Pattaya. The fare is around 1200 baht and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. But as always, price is up to your negotiations skills. You may agree on 1000 baht if you are a good negotiator.

Suvarnabhumi airport has its own bus terminal. The shuttle bus can be reached by free airport shuttle from outside the first floor. There are bus services to many central points of the city between 05.40-21.00.
How to get from Bangkok Airport – Suvarnabhumi to other cities?
From Suvarnabhumi, it is possible to take a bus directly to some destinations such as Pattaya, Koh Chang, Cambodia border.
State buses depart from the airport bus terminal. You can use the free ring service to go here. The ticket fare to Pattaya is around 100 baht and the journey lasts about 2 hours.
