Bangkok – A brief history and things to do
Thailand’s largest city and capital, Bangkok, is also the most crowded city in the country, with a population of approximately 8.500.000 and this makes our business very easy in our travels. Appreciate that in our international travels, it is very important to use time effectively and to stay fit during this period. When we go to a distant country like Thailand one or two times, we become friends with both time, fatigue and problems with “jet lag” ie “simultaneous disorder”.
I want to share some interesting information with you when it comes to mind; The full official name of the city as THAI is composed of 166 letters “krung thep mahanakhon amon rattanakosin mahinthara yuthaya mahadilok phop noppharat ratchathani burirom udomratchaniwet mahasathan amon piman awatan sathit sakkathattiya witsanukam prasit”.
This is also the world’s longest place / city name. The name of the city among the people is “krung thep” ie “the city of the angels”, while the name of the international underground city is bangkok. From the name given by the Thai people, we can call it a kind of Thai Los Angeles.
BANGKOK is the biggest tourist attraction like Pattaya. Although beach / sea concept like Phuket, Pattaya is not very popular, it attracts millions of tourists every year because of nightlife and entertainment life. There is a street in the city center where all the tourists and locals spend their time, and everything belongs to Thai. Cafes for those who want to relax, bars for something to drink, and small shops selling textiles and electronics at a very affordable price to shop. At the very entrance of the street, I saw a hand cart selling my friend’s most fried cockroaches and worms.
I’ve never seen anyone eaten during my stay, but tourists are constantly harassing the seller and want to take photos. The operator found a solution to even profit from this job, to take a picture of the car, 10 baht. This street is one of the best places to shop during the day and hosts the street parties in the evenings. The majority of tourists who stay in Thailand’s hot and humid air are joining the street parties instead of choosing the places that are most memorable.
Khao San Road where parties set in Bangkok. After 8pm, you can go there and start drinking with other travellers.
